Google Walking Directions…

I was playing around with Google Maps this morning (isn’t my life fascinating?) and I noticed there was a new feature – Walking Directions!

According to Google Maps, it would take me 23 days and 14 hours to walk from Omaha, Nebraska to Los Angeles, California.  I’m assuming that’s walking straight through for 23 days without taking any breaks.  Add in sleeping time, eating time, bathroom time, you’re looking at a good 2 month journey.

So… next time you want to know how long its going to take you to walk somewhere and which route to take, use Google Maps!  🙂

PS:  It does work great locally – I tried my apartment building to the Pizza Hut/Taco Bell a few miles away and it gave me step by step instructions.  It said it would take me 49 minutes.  I’m sooo going to give it a try!

🙂  BYE!

I wanna go check that out too! Google comes up with everything don’t they. If you are going on a 49 minute walk you better make sure there’s no rain in the forecast LOL.

Google amazes me. I play around on Google all the time! Yesterday, I also discovered that they updated the maps in the area of Mexico where Jose lives (it used to be one big green and brown blob) and me and him fooled around for a good 40 minutes last night picking out his house, his brothers house, his uncles house… etc. etc!

LoL, I doubt I’ll make the 49 minute walk. It sounded like a much better idea yesterday!

I did the same thing with Hectors town…traced everything from the Plaza…I printed it out so I could see it all better…I have dialup…:( doesn’t make for the best pics ever! I just found a bunch of pics on Flickr too from Santa Cruz in Palmillas…Hector saw a friend of ours Mom on there and printed it out to take to the friend at work today! I have no idea who the person was that put the pics on there, kinda cool I thought though! It doesn’t take much to interest me! I’m always looking for pics of Palmillas though because it’s such a small town, and everyone knows everyone…so if you can find em chances are he is gonna know someone in that pic!;)

Jenn – that’s too cool about seeing someone’s mom in one of the pictures!!! When I go to Lagos again, I’m going to take a ton of pictures of everything and everywhere! 🙂

It doesn’t take much to interest me, either!

LMAO @ recognizing the mom. I was on MySpace a couple of weeks ago looking at the people on my friend list when I came across this girl’s profile with family pics and recognized a guy that worked at the local Mexican restaurant … she married him!

We now know that Ivan is alive and well living in Tennessee with a great wife and two beautiful babies 🙂

I hope we get to meet them when we go to Kentucky.
