Chupacabra…
August 12, 2008
On August 8th, 2008 two police officers in Cuero, TX managed to capture video footage of the ever elusive Chupacabra. What exactly is the Chupacabra, you might ask? Great question!
It translates literally to Goat Sucker (chupar = suck and cabra = goat in Spanish). The Chupacabra is an unknown animal that seems to inhabit Puerto Rico, Mexico, and (more recently) the United States of America. It was first seen in Puerto Rico in the early 90s, but sightings since have been reported as far north as Maine and as far to the south as Chile.
On Wikipedia.com, The Chupacabra is described as such: “It is supposedly a heavy creature, the size of a small bear, with a row of spines reaching from the neck to the base of the tail.”
Here is a drawing of the Chupacabra.
And here is a photograph of the Chupacabra that a woman in Texas found and froze, so she would have proof such a creature exsists.
Anyway, the Chupacabra feeds off live stock. It drains all of the animal’s blood and sometimes internal organs through one or two small holes. Most scientists think of the Chupacabras as mere urban legend though.
I asked Jose about this creature, and (once he stopped laughing) confirmed everything I had read on the internet so far, emphasizing the whole urban legend thing.
What do you think?? Do you believe in the Chupacabra?
Almost forgot to add… I think the animal in the video looks like a stray dog!!
Here’s some links for you if you would like to further your Chupacabra knowledge.
Bye!

Jenn – LoL, if Jose seen any documentaries or even the news story about the cops catching it on video, he would be a believer for life!
We’re doing good.
LoL, my kids have that problem sometimes, too!
Chocolate – I found the image on Wikepedia.com when I searched for Chupacabra. I don’t know who drew it, and I don’t think that’s what its believed to look like. I just added it because I thought it was kinda funny.

Wow! Did you see the video? Looked like a cross bred dog and wolf to me. But, the creature does really exist out there. Had a chance to hear a story about a fellows chicken house being emptied of live birds by something that did not eat the meat. It just chomped them with two small teeth bite holes and all the blood was gone out of each bird. Nothing on he ground except bodies. No blood stains anywhere. The bodies were not stiff and nothing else would come near them. Weird. But, this is Texas. Lots of weird stuff is coming out of Texas these days.
