Update to my MIA Period…

Yesterday, I finally remembered to get a pregnancy test!  I went to the Dollar General with the girls yesterday and bought myself a $1 test.

And…  (are you ready?)

It was negativo.  No bun in the oven for me…

I’m slightly disappointed.  As much as I know we can’t have a baby right now, I do really, really love babies.  It would have been fun.

(sigh)

But, I still haven’t got my period.  I guess I’ll test in another two weeks or so, and then get myself to a doctor to see what’s up!

Adios!

A little hot-headed.

Have I ever mentioned that I have a little bit of a anger control problem??  I know, I know.  That sounds pretty bad.  But, in all honesty, I probably could benefit from a little anger management.  I’ve been known to “fly off the handle” a few times…

Take today at work for example.

The cook and me have had a few rough patches here and there, but we’ve been getting along great lately.  Today, I don’t know what her problem was, but she was just plain rude and crabby all day long.  She was being mean to the other cooks, she was screaming at the waitresses, and she was complaining to management about all of us.

Around noon, after we’ve already had a couple of run ins, I thought things were good.  The manager had talked to her, and told her to chill out.  I was wrong, though.

I was standing in front of the window where the cooks place our food, talking to the assistant manager that had just come in.  We were talking about substituting french toast for pancakes or some other stupid question.

“I told her to calm down and to wait for the pancakes!”  The cook screamed, referring to me!  “She needs to stop whining about it!”

“What?!”  I exclaimed.  “What the hell?  I’m not even talking about the pancakes!”

The assistant manager told her to shush up and keep cooking.  Naturally, she ignored him.

“You have a big mouth, Liz, and you need to stop.”

“Well,” I replied, yelling loud enough for the whole dining room to hear, “you need to stop being a BITCH!”  (Lots of emphasis on the bitch part)

“What did you call me?!”

“A BITCH!”

For a second, I thought she was going to climb through the window and beat the crap out of me.  Instead, she threw off her cook’s jacket and stormed off.

The other employees seriously responded with applause.  I was in shock.  I didn’t even know what to think.  Everyone kept thanking me for telling her off.

But…

I feel really bad.  I’m apologizing to her tomorrow when I go in.  I just hope she doesn’t respond with some smart ass answer.  That’d get me all ticked off again!!

But, then again, I can’t stand people being rude and crabby for no reason.  I have bent over backwards to be so nice to this chick.  Why does she treat people like this?!  What the hell?  I sort of feel like she had it coming.

We’ll see what happens tomorrow.  This should be interesting…

Oh, and two tables complained about listening to us fight.  I feel even worse about that, because I’d be irritated if I was eating out and having to listen to some crap like that.  I apologized to the customers…

Well.  :)   Have a nice day!  Bye!

What do you use your Fabuloso for??

I was planning on blogging about my favorite cleaning products to use in my apartment, but I got totally side tracked once I started looking up Fabuloso.

Turns out, there have been tons of reports of people accidentally injesting this stuff.  No, let me rephrase that.  They are not accidentally drinking this stuff.  They’re drinking it on purpose but thinking its some kind of sports drink.

WTF?

For one, every store I have ever purchased Fabuloso at has had the stuff WITH the cleaning supplies.  Grocery stores, Dollar Stores, even teeny tiny neighborhood stores in Mexico had this product located near other products for similar purchases.

Also, where are people putting this stuff?  I keep it under my kitchen sink, with other cleaning products.  It is definately not in my fridge next to my sports drinks or Kool-Aide.

AND, wouldn’t the final straw be the smell?!  It smells very, very strongly of cleaner.  It does NOT smell like something I’d want to drink!!

So…

To sum things up, and I direct this mostly to the gueros because most Latinos that I know are familiar with Fabuloso, DO NOT DRINK YOUR FABULOSO!!  Do not keep it in your fridge, or your guests might accidentally drink it.  If you own a store, keep this with your Pine Sol and Mr. Clean.  Most importantly, Keep It Away From Small Children!!

Mmmm… my apartment smells so fresh and clean, though!!

Accident Prone Children.

I definately would have qualified as an accident prone child.  A few trips to the ER requiring stitches, a couple knee surgeries after a gym class incident, several sprains here and there…  I haven’t actually injured myself in years, but I’m still as much as a clutz as ever.

Today, for example, I was bussing a dirty table.  Nothing fancy.  I stacked two or three plates on top of each other, and a couple of syrup containers on top of the plate  I felt 100% in control.  What happened next?  Everything came toppling down.  I was drenched head to toe in sweet, sticky maple syrup.  Nice, huh?  Good thing I had an extra apron in the truck…  I just kind of dealt with the sticky pants.

Anyways…

Olivia is my accident prone child.  This weekend, she snuck a pair of scissors and almost cut her finger off at my mom’s house.  My mom about had a heart attack over the whole thing.  And then this morning, at my suegra’s house, she was fightig with Isabel and conked her forehead on the arm of a wooden chair.  I’ve spent all afternoon worrying about concussions and stitches.  We just got home from Mom’s, though, and after cleaning up the wound its not as severe as we thought.  Phew…  it’d suck to be stuck with an expensive ER bill right now.

Wish us luck with this “problem” in the future!  In the words of Jose…  Puras tragedias!  :D

And here’s a picture of the wound when I went to pick her up at my suegras.  It looks waaaay better know after my mom cleaned it up!

What am I missing? Oh yeah, my period.

So…

Being the space cadet that I usually am, I generally don’t remember my last period.  I have a vague idea when I probably got it, but I couldn’t tell you exactly.  I have an IUD in place, though, that so far has worked wonders.  That’s why I tend not to stress about the whole period thing.

Anyway, I was pondering my last period the other morning, and you wanna know what?  My last period was on the 26th and 27th of March (its pretty short usually).  That puts me at what, two weeks late?!

That’s craziness.  I can’t even stand the stress of testing right now.  I don’t know what to even think at the moment.  I’d love another baby.  But the whole lack of insurance thing would make this one big expensive ordeal.  Especially since I’m 90% I’d need a c-section…

Jose has no idea yet, either.

We’ll see.  I’ve giving it another two weeks to show up, and then I’ll test.  I’m off to Babycenter to look up due dates…  ;)   Have a nice night!!

Drama-y Goodness.

I promised some in-law drama.  :)   So, here goes.

*Rigo and La Lupe (as Jose now calls her) are broken up yet again.  Friday night she said she was going to her mom’s to get a good nights sleep, and she ended up going to a dance club.  She got drunk, and started sending Rigo pictures from the dance.

*The neice that just had the baby is having major problems with her boyfriend.  I mean BAD.  We’ve recently found out he’s hit her a couple times, and this weekend something bad enough happened to make her move back into my suegra’s house.  As of Sunday morning, she was going to come stay with us, but her boyfriend went and took her home.  WTF is wrong with this girl??  She said she needs him because with no kids no other man would ever want to be with her.  That is SO not true!  Ugh… Sometimes I wish I could just smack some sense into these people.  She is such a nice girl!  She doesn’t need to suffer with some abusive dickwad of a boyfriend.

Oh yeah! So then, Saturday night, La Lupe goes to find Karina (neice) to tell her Daniel (neice’s boyfriend) was at the dance with HER Friday night and they danced all night long!!!

*Jose’s other brother, Omar, was bawling all weekend because him and his live-in girlfriend were breaking up.  She was sick of him working out of town, and told him to make an effort to get transferred here to Omaha or she was leaving.  Everyone was giving this guy a bazillion consejos at once.  He got overwhelmed while we were there and just left.  They did patch things up, though, at least temporarily.

So… my suegra had a very shitty Mother’s Day.  She had all these problems weighing down on her.  There was even drama going on down in Mexico that she was dealing with, too.

I had a very, very shitty Mother’s Day, too.  I’m very bitter about it, and will bring it up to Jose probably a good 5-10 more times before I go to bed!  Grrr…

Here are a few pictures from this weekend!  The first one is Baby Daniel.

These are all of Jose’s brothers.  Left to right it is Rigoberto, Sergio, Omar, my suegra, Baltazar, and Jose.

And here’s a shot of my girls.

Work was pretty interesting today.  I found out in July they plan on sending me to some college course to get me certified in something.  I’m sure I’ll find out more details later!  :)   I worked with Crazy-Girl, but it was all good.  I just ignored her.

Well…

I have a headache and need to wake up early.  Night Night!!

What happens in Branson…

I’m back!  I’m back!  I’ve missed my blogging buddies so much the last few days.  Here’s some pictures!  I’m very disappointed that I didn’t get to drive around and take touristy pictures.  The manager that drov us down there was in such a friggin’ hurry to get home that he wouldn’t take the 10 minutes to drive me down the strip to take pics.  Anyways… here are some pictures that I took from my balcony!

Pssst… I work for one of the businsses shown above.  And its not the one that involves ducks in any way.  :)

And, here are some are a couple of shots from the karaoke bar we went to.

We were a little trashed…

After hitting the karaoke bar, our genious manager invited all the employees back to our room to keep partying.  Does it really look like we needed to keep partying!?  And, notice I said he invited them back to OUR room.  Not his room.

To make a rather long story short, I’ll just say the cops were called, lots of managers were involved, and us Omahans will probably not be invited back to Branson for a long time!  :)   I had a blast Thursday night, though.  I don’t party that often.  In fact, I never party!  I felt so naughty the whole night!  We sure got some good stories to tell, too.

The classes were… well, classes.  A little too long.  A lot boring.  BUT, I did learn a lot of things and I am now certified to train new servers.  Our resteraunt needed a qualified trainer very badly.  I’m excited with all the new knowledge I have and am willing to spread the love, so to speak.  :)

M manager told me this morning that they loved me down there (??!  Maybe what happens in Branson stays in Branson!) and they told her I could really go places.

Huh…

Nice to know!!!

I have a whole crapload of in-law gossip which can wait for tomorrow!!  Bye bye for now!  Wish me luck, tomorrow is going to be frickin’ crazy at work!  Feliz dia de las madres!

‘Cause I’m leaving, on a jet plane…

I’m not actually leaving in a plane.  A 2006 Kia minivan is more like it.  I’m suffering mixed emotions right now, which are hovering between excitement and dread.  I’m excited because I’ve never travelled without Jose or the girls.  I’m hoping it will be kind of fun.  On the otherhand, I’m leaving my babies behind!  My little girls!  I’m going to miss them so much.

While I was packing, Oliva (2) asked me where I was going.  I told her I was going out of town to work.

“I’m gonna miss you, Momma.”

Awwww….!!!

And can you believe it?  She was helping me pack.  She brought me a brush and comb, my tooth brush, and lotion.  Where does a two year old learn such things?!

I’m going to go picture crazy and take tons of photos once were down in Branson!  Which reminds me, I’m need to buy batteries!

Jose is being a crab apple.  I feel like asking him what crawled up his butt and died.  In the mood he’s in, though, I better not.

I threw away some paper the cable company gave him, where they showed him which channels he was going to have.  I thought it was junk.  It was just laying on the end table with all the other junk.  Ha ha ha… he had to dig through the trash to pull it out.  That’s what he gets for being a meanie.  :)

I’ll post when I got home on Saturday!!  Take care friends!!!  I’ll miss you.

Break me off a piece of that Kit Kat Bar!

I’m addicted to checking my blog stats.  I honest to God checked my stats AT LEAST 50 times today.  I was watching each and every hit come and where it was coming from.  I’m a freak.  I’ve even memorized some of the darned things.  My most popular most is my “About Me” page.  My most popular day ever was Thursday, May 1st, with 55 hits.

Amazing, isn’t it??

Today, I decided I really wanted some Coca Cola.  The four cans I chugged this morning weren’t enough.  I threw a pair of shorts on Olivia, got them both in a pair of flip flops, and off we went to the Dollar General.  I happened to check my cell phone on the way there, and it was 7:53!  The place closes at eight!  I panicked.  I was not going home with my Coke!  I scooped up Olivia, and grabbed Chavela’s hand so I could pull her along as I jogged the rest of the way.

We made it just in time!  I was in and out of there before eight.  :)   We’re that good.

I’ve been watching TV shows on Hulu all evening.  I even put “Ice Age” on for the girls.  That website is pretty amazing!  I’ve watched The Simpsons, Family Guy, and The Office.  No George Lopez Show, though.  Darn…

Last night I talked to Sergio’s wife (Sergio is another one of Jose’s brother) for the first time since I left Mexico.  I told her I’d send them some wedding pictures and some pictures of Karina’s baby.  Gosh, I miss all of Jose’s family in Mexico.  It seems like the more “normal” members of his family are the ones down there still.  Everyone was so nice to me.

One evening, while we were down there, I got into a HORRIBLE screaming match with my suegra.  I thought the woman was going to smack me.  My brother-in-law Sipriano amazed me by taking MY SIDE, and doing everything he could to calm me down (I’m pretty feisty once you get me riled up).  If that would have happened here, everyone would have automatically taken HER side, just because its their mother.  I’d have been shunned for days!

For the record, even though we have gotten into it many times, I love my suegra.  We’re just two VERY, VERY different people from different cultures.  We’re getting used to each other now, though.  :)

Well…

See you tomorrow!  :)   Maybe tomorrow will be my most popular day ever!  ;)

Crazy weekend… :)

Okay, so it wasn’t THAT crazy…

But kind of.

Yesterday, Jose’s neice (Karina) had her baby boy.  Here’’s a picture of me and little Daniel.

Aww… isn’t he cute??  New babies are always so exciting!

And here’s Karina.

It was amazing to me.  Only a few hours after giving birth and this girl looked as refreshed and as put together as always!  LoL, I looked like crap for weeks after having my girls.

The baby was most of the excitement this weekend.  I worked Friday, Saturday, and this morning.  I made decent money all three days.  But. we just go from problem to problem at that place.  I’m telling you…  Now they got us working with a crazy girl.   Seriously, this chick is nut case.  And, the best part is, she’s going to Branson with us.

This must be some kind of sick punishment.  Eight hours in a car with this girl is way more than enough to torture anyone.  Hopefully, her husband being with us will calm her down a bit.  I hope so…

Tonight we had a carne asada at my suegra’s house.  Being the camera loving dork that I am, here are some pictures from tonight, starting with one of the carniceria where we bought the meat!  :)

The little boy is Rigo’s girlfriend’s son.  This week, they are back together YET again.  It was only last Thursday when they had broken up.  Today, she went to drop her daughter off somewhere, and to buy tortillas, and ended up taking FOREVER.  Her story was that she got pulled over and the cop didn’t want to let her go because she didn’t have any ID.

Yeah.  Sure.  And I’m the freakin’ Queen of England.

She never did get the tortillas, either.

Enough about them…

Obviously, I have my internet back.  WHOO-HOO!!!  I sure missed it.  I have my telephone back on, too, but Jose is still without his cable.  They’re coming to install it on Tuesday.

Jose wants me to show him information on the stimulus package.  Have a nice week!

And, for your viewing pleasure, one last photo of Jose and Rigo!  :)   I figure I talk about the guy enough, I might as well add a picture.  Jose is the one in the blue striped polo, Rigo is wearing the tank top.
