The X-Files…

Yesterday, while surfing the net for randomness like I so often do, I discovered there is going to be a new X-Files movie releaed.  I haven’t watched an episode in ages, but back in the day (when I was 12ish) I was obsessed.  I had every episode taped, I had my own X-File websites, I wrote fan fiction, I seen the movie in theaters 6 times, and owned the action figures.  Hell, with one of my friends we would even live action role play the X-Files.

I was always Mulder.  ;)

I’m interested to learn more about this movie!!  I can’t wait until it comes out.

Pool update.

Me and the girls have been checking out the pool every day for the last week or so.  As of yesterday, a garden hose had been hooked up and was laying on the concrete next to the pool.  I checked today, and nothing has changed.

Maybe soon…  I’m hoping that by Monday it’ll be full!

Today, I did another awesome summer activity that I love – I hit up some garage sales!!

I had twenty bucks, and I bought:  a walker for Lupe’s baby, three sleepers and two pairs of shoes for Karina’s baby, two tank tops for Isabel, a dress and a pair of shoes for Olivia, and a puzzle, some My Little Ponies, some plastic bracelets, and socks for the girls.  Tomorrow I’m talking my suegra out and we’ll be checking out some neighborhood sales I found on Craigslist.

I love garage sales…  :D

I’ve been tagged…

Last week, Susan tagged me.  :)   This is the first time I’ve ever been”tagged”, so I had to do some quick research to figure out what the heck it meant.

This is what I have to do:

1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog .

So, 7 facts about me:

1)  In junior high I was in trouble so often, the principal had my parents on speed dial.

2)   I flunked Spanish class in high shool, and then afterwards started to become fluent after a year with Jose.  I’m very confident in my Spanish skills :) but I still have a to to learn.

3)  Me and Jose started dating when I was 16 and he was 25!!

4)  My secret life long ambition has been to be a writer for young adult novels.

5)  I wanted boys so badly that when I had my utrasound with Olivia I actually cried when they told me if was a girl.  I quickly tried to mask my tears of disappointment as tears of joy.

6)  I sometimes wish I was Mexican.  I know it sound so stupid, but my husband and family have such a pride in their home country and their culture.  Our family doesn’t even know where our ancestors are from.  WTH?!

7) When I worked at Werner Enterprises (the trucking comany) I was written up multiple times for using MySpace instead of working!  Ooops!

:)

Being the loser that I am, everyone has pretty much been tagged already, so no tagging anyone for me.  Enjoy!!

Ready for summer fun…

The very last week of May and it is cold (57 degrees!) and rainy.  WTH kind of crap is that?!  Its summer!  I’m ready to crank up the air conditioning and take the girls swimming.  I’ve been having to go through all of the pants and sweaters I packed away for the girls so that they don’t freeze to death when we go out.  What a pain in the butt.

Tomorrow should satisfy me, though.  It is supposed to be near 90 degrees.  Whoo-hoo!  Today, I made plans with Karina and Ana to go to the swimming pools at Mahoney State Park next week.  I’m so excited!  I love swimming!!

Now, I have to try on my swim suit to see if all this extra tummy flab will fit.  If not, off to Wal-Mart to buy another swim suit top.

Summer is by far my favorite season!

Next month is Livie’s third birthday, too!  Diana will be her madrina when she gets presented to the church.  We’re then going to have a birthday bash at Diana’s house.  They have a really nice pool and Jose is going to rent a bounce house.  Actually, since it will be mostly little kids, we might just buy one of the smaller boucne houses.  We’ll see.

I’m excited to have set birthday plans.  I was finally able to send off to for her invitations to be made.  YAY!  3 Little Flowers is who I decided to go through for the invites.  She does great work!  I can’t wait to see a finished product.  :)

That’s really all that’s new and exciting in my world.  Today is Jose’s 33rd birthday.  Nothing cool planned.  His Mom did call at 5am with the mananitas for him.  Aww…  I’m broke, and he specifically stated NOT to spend any money on him, so I didn’t.  Sunday his Mom is making pozole to celebrate, and we’ll have a little family dinner.

I’m thinking of looking up a cool cake design and trying making it for him.  We’ll see…

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

I hope you guys are having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!  Ours has been pretty nice, actually.  Saturday night we went to my suegra’s house (now that its nice out its becoming the norm to hang at her house) for a cookout.  I got a little tipsy off of the Mike’s Hard Lemonade that I ran to Bag N Save to buy once I realized almost everyone was drinking beer.  I don’t do beer.  Yuck.  I’ve tried many, many times and I just can’t stomach it…

Anyways, people started talking about heading over to the Guacamaya for the dance, so I called them up tsee how much they were charging and then called my mom to take her the girls.  Jose was being the wonderful designated driver that he is and drinking Sprite.  ;)

We had fun at the Guacamaya.  I was starving so we came home a little early (12ish) so I could get something to eat on the way.

Yesterday we pcked up the girls, hung around home for a few hours, and then headed BACK to my suegra’s house!  At first I didn’t want to go, but I’m glad we did.  We had fun.  We left around 5:30, so we could catch the 6pm mass.  We haven’t been to church in a while…  actually pretty much since we got married!  We need to go more often.

We got back to my suegra’s after church, went to the park for a little while, and then came home.  :)

We have all day today FREE!  YAY.

LoL, oh yeah.  I think I’m done at Dennys, too.  I haven’t decided 100% yet, but there has been some major drama that I don’t want any part in!  And I’m sick of crazy girl and bitch cook.  We’ll see what happens.  Here’s some pics!

Isabel was taking NO part in the group pictures.  I don’t know WTH her problem was!!

I forgot a bit of drama, so I’ll fill you in.  Rigo nor his girlfriend are pictured in the above shots.  She’s kinda sorta been shunned by the family.  And my heart goes out to Rigo, because I guess he was crying to his Mom (granted, he was drunk…) about how do one likes her and why doesn’t anyone like her and blah blah blah.

BUT, she’s a complete bitch and is very negligent to her kids.  I told my suegra that I ain’t going to be killing myself so that girl feels accepted.  She wants to be rude and treat her kids like crap, well, that’s exactly what she has coming to her then.  LoL, I could go on all day about this couple but I won’t.

:)

BYE!

I’m bored… entertain me.

I called in to work today…  I don’t feel too bad, since there were going to be five servers there.  A Thursday morning does not usually require the services offive waitresses, so I saved everyone a lot of whining and just stayed home.  :)

It rained like crazy most of the day, so Jose came home early.  We had a lazy day… I took a nap in the afternoon, and he slept from the time he got home (noon-ish) until well after five!

He woke up hungry, so we went to my suegra’s house so he could grill out.  This man loves his carne asada.  That’s the #1 thing he hates about living in an apartment; the fact that he can’t have a grill here.

I don’t really have anything else to write about.  I was in the mood to blog, but I guess it melted away…

Bye.

Mi Querido Esposo…

I thought I’d show off some pictures of my lovely husband.  :)

The pictures might not show it, but Jose is only five feet tall, which makes him a good 7-8 inches shorter than me.  :D   I love the man with all my heart.

Candy…

I’m a candy loving girl.  I definately have a major sweet tooth.  Some of my favorite candies are Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, Skittles, and 3 Muskateers Bars.

But…

My favorite candy ever is Pulparindo candy.

I seriously buy this stuff by the box.  I fell in love with it back when Karina was working at the taqueria.  One evening she brought home a bag of suckers and a box of these candies, and I would steal three or four every mornng before I left for work!

When I was in Mexico, I found out that some shipments were recalled due to have traces of lead in the powder that’s on top.  I slowed down for a few days, but quickly went back to buying a couple boxes every few days.  In Mexico, I could get this stuff for 15 pesos!  And it was crazy fresh!

Today, I think I paid $3 (twice as much!) and it is like chewing a garden hose it is so tough.

But it is still so yummy… :)

And its really fun to talk people into trying it, and then watching the repulsed looks on their faces when they taste the spicey/sourness.

On a completley unrelated notes, the cook started acting civil to me.  I had a quick mental anguish moment, trying to decide if I should continue the feud and hold a grudge, or make life easier and just follow her lead and act normal.  I did, and I’m glad…  A weight has been lifted from my shoulders!

And, I got to work with my friend today for the first time in a week.  I stayed 8 hours today, but being with her made my day go so much smoother.  :)

Park hopping and pictures to prove it…

Today, I had the girls bathed, dressed, and ready to go by 10am.

That never, ever happens.  Usually, on my days off, we don’t even leave the house until well after noon.  I guess I’m finally getting used to getting up earlier.

Anyways… I’ve been itching for some nice park pictures, so I got the camera ready and we went off in search of some nice parks.  I’m very close to both Ralston and Papillion, and both cities have well maintained, safe, and fun parks.  So, that’s where we spent the morning.

Enjoy the pictures!  :D

And, last (but not least) a picture of the toilet at Walgreens.  Isabel was very, very impressed with the many rolls of toilet paper.

My Monday…

Mondays suck…

I went in the work this morning, and the cook was still being a complete bitch.  I have no idea why it bugs me as much as it does, but (and I feel like a dweeb saying this)  my feelings are so hurt over this whole ordeal that I was in tears for the entire hour that I was there.

I usually only cry when I want Jose to feel sorry for me, or when I’m really, really angry about something.  But this was different…  (And out comes my inner-dweeb again) I just thought she was my friend.  We’ve gotten along so good the last month.

I ended up telling my manager I was leaving.  Honestly, I don’t make enough to put up with the cook’s crap.  She isn’t ANY BODY to treat me like shit.  We’ll see how things go on Monday.

Anyways…

After work, I went to K-Mart for some light retail therapy.  I bought some Fabuloso in a spray bottle (I’m getting addicted…), Herbal Essence Shampoo, and an outfit for each of the girls.  It was getting a little late, so I ran to my suegra’s to pick up my kids.  But, my suegra wanted me to take her downtown to the scrap metal place.  She had some copper to sell.  My suegra is getting her Matricula Consular tomorrow, and she needed some $$$ to pay for it.  It wasn’t a bad deal.  For 17 lbs, she got  $54.

Once I got home with the girls, we just kind of lazed around all day.  I cleaned some.  I make dinner.  And, of course, I played on the computer.

Around 5pm, the rent-to-own guys came to pick up our television.  We’ve been renting this TV for a few months now, and Jose is realizing how big of a rip-off the whole rent-to-own concept is.  He called them yesterday and decided to have them come take back the TV.  The lady on the phone tried telling him it was almost paid off.

Um, yeah.  In 19 months!!

We were TV-less all afternoon, but then I ran across a Craigslist posting for a 27 inch TV for $50.  Not an incredible bargain, but not too shabby either.  LoL, it was 9:30pm when I went to pick it up.  The lady probably thought I was a pyscho!  But, it seems to be a very nice TV.  The girls will inherit it when we put another TV.

Phew…

What a long entry about practically nothing.  :D

Oh, yeah.  While I was at K-Mart, I was behind some dude talking on a cell-phone.  When I heard “topless” I started paying a little more attention.  He was talking some girl into dancing topless for his “guys” at a party.  $200 plus tips.  He asked her several times it she didn’t have any friends, and when he hung up, he goes, “Fuck.  Where am I gonna find another dancer on such short notice?!”

I was thinking the whole time, “…really now?!  Do you really have to have this conversation in the middle of K-Mart?!”  I was half convinced it was some kind of stupid prank.

Anyways…  Adios!!!  Hasta tomorrow!

Thought I’d add a couple pics from this afternoon while I’m here…  Jose is trying to fix the a/c in my Jeep.  Hah… wish him luck!!
